Who We Are

Mariuma Binti Private Primary School was established to respond to the growing need for inclusive and affordable education in rural Malawi. Located in Kadiso Village, Traditional Authority Mduwa, Mchinji District, the school exists to ensure that no child is denied education because of disability, orphanhood, or poverty.

Our Background

Mariuma Binti Private Primary School was founded as a community-driven initiative to address educational challenges faced by vulnerable children in Mchinji and surrounding villages. Many children in this area struggle to access quality education due to financial hardship, lack of inclusive facilities, and limited learning resources.

The school was created to provide a safe, supportive, and child-centered learning environment where every learner is valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed.

Our Mission

To provide inclusive, quality, and affordable primary education while nurturing hope, dignity, and self-confidence in every child, especially those from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our Vision

A community where every child, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance, has access to education and the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Our Core Values

Love and Care:

We treat every child with compassion, respect, and understanding.

Community Responsibility

We work closely with parents and the community to support children’s development.

Integrity and Transparency

We are accountable and responsible in all our actions.

Inclusion and Equality

We believe every child deserves equal access to education.

How We Teach

Our approach focuses on the holistic development of the child. We combine classroom learning with creativity, play-based activities, moral guidance, and life skills development. Our teachers are trained, caring, and committed to creating a positive learning experience for every learner.

We pay special attention to learners who require additional academic or physical support, ensuring they are fully included in school activities.

Our Learners

Mariuma Binti Private Primary School serves

Learners with physical and learning disabilities

We provide an inclusive learning environment where children with disabilities are supported through patient instruction, adapted learning approaches, and encouragement to participate fully in school life.

Orphaned children

Many of our learners have lost one or both parents and lack stable support systems. The school offers them structure, care, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

Children from low-income households

Poverty remains a major barrier to education in rural Malawi. We work to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent children from attending school, learning effectively, and building hope for the future.

Beyond academics, we focus on learners’ emotional wellbeing, confidence, and personal development. Through care, consistency, and encouragement, we help children grow into responsible, capable, and confident individuals who can positively contribute to their families and communities.

We believe that when vulnerable children are given access to quality education and a supportive environment, they are empowered to break the cycle of poverty and create a better future for themselves and others.
